OUTBACK SERIES
I made two trips to the West MacDonalds in NT, the colours and textures of outback Australia were very enticing. This page shows a few examples, mostly around 90x60cm
acrylic on textured paper on board.
Private Collections.
Unfortunately, I did not archive the full series of the outback-inspired paintings. They were created across two different journeys to Central Australia where my Aunt was living at the time.
The textured paper surface was a perfect substrate for the arid and iconic desert areas of Central Australia. Another outback series was created in acrylics and metallics on canvas, with subjects such as the Simpsons Gap, The Ormiston, The Serpentine and The Glen Helen Gorge, Ellery Creek Big Hole etc.
